The build starts with an OD Green HK Mark 23 chambered in .45 ACP and its 5.87″ threaded polygonal barrel. Ready Gunner pairs it with the custom OD Green Rugged Obsidian 45, a Rugged M16x1 RH piston, SureFire X300-B Turbo weapon light, and Gen 2 HK Mark 23 Picatinny Rail Adapter.

OD Green HK Mark 23 .45 ACP

The HK Mark 23 provides the foundation for this package. Chambered in .45 ACP, the Mark 23 features a 5.87″ threaded polygonal barrel, double-action/single-action operating system, steel slide, polymer frame, ambidextrous safety lever, and separate decocking lever.

An O-ring at the barrel helps maintain consistent barrel-to-slide lockup. The pistol also incorporates HK’s USP-type mechanical recoil reduction system, which HK states reduces recoil forces transmitted to the shooter and pistol components by approximately 30%.

This configuration features an OD Green frame, 12+1 capacity, and includes two 12-round magazines.

The Obsidian 45 is a modular .45 ACP suppressor constructed from 17-4 PH stainless steel. In its full-length configuration, it measures approximately 8.6″ long, 1.37″ in diameter, and weighs 12.8 oz.

Rugged ADAPT Modular System

The Obsidian 45 uses Rugged’s ADAPT modular system, allowing the suppressor to be configured in multiple lengths. Its serviceable stainless steel baffle stack incorporates indexing tabs for alignment and is designed to create a gas seal between the baffles and suppressor tube.

The Obsidian 45 is full-auto rated and designed to work with suppressor-height pistol sights. The suppressor includes its ADAPT module, .45 front cap, and factory .578×28 piston.

Rugged M16x1 RH Piston for the HK Mark 23

The Obsidian 45 normally includes a .578×28 piston, so this package adds a separate Rugged M16x1 RH piston for the HK Mark 23 configuration.

The Rugged piston is machined from 17-4 stainless steel and heat treated for durability. Its non-slotted design creates a full-circumference gas seal and is designed for use with the Obsidian booster system on compatible handgun hosts.

SureFire X300-B Turbo Weapon Light

The build is equipped with a SureFire X300-B Turbo weapon light producing 650 lumens and 66,000 candela. The Turbo configuration emphasizes high beam intensity and a concentrated center hotspot.

Ambidextrous switching provides access to momentary and constant-on activation. The X300T-B uses SureFire’s T-slot thumbscrew clamp, features a hard-anodized aluminum body, and carries an IPX7 waterproof rating to 1 meter for 30 minutes.

Gen 2 HK Mark 23 Picatinny Rail Adapter
